Timeline
FALL
September:
If you haven't already done so, schedule an on – campus
visit, personal interview, or attend their open house session,
if applicable.
Call college of interest to confirm requirements for admission,
early application process, etc. Apply to one or all of these
schools – Howard,
Trinity
or Uconn.
October:
Attend College Recruitment Days at your school and College
Fairs/individual school visits. (The Hartford will be on
hand at all College Fairs and may visit your school individually,
if required.)
December:
Attend The Hartford's Financial Aid Night in December.
Uconn, Trinity & Howard University Financial Aid Office
representatives will be on hand to assist you with preparing
your FAFSA paperwork (parents are encouraged to attend
with student).
WINTER
January:
If considering Howard University, attend The Hartford's
"Mid-Winter Picnic," scheduled for sometime in January.
Howard sophomores, juniors and seniors from the School of
Business are present to share their college experiences
and answer questions – learn first-hand from those
students currently pursuing their college degrees about
this fine school and all it has to offer. Come see what
Howard is all about, have some fun and win some prizes too!!
(This night is open to juniors and seniors from HPHS, Weaver,
Bulkeley & Sport Sciences Academy, and is intended for
students only.)
February:
Submit your FAFSA paperwork AND indicate which schools
you want to receive the information by February 15th.
March:
March 1 - Follow up with FAFSA to ensure your paperwork
has been approved.
